In 2001, at the ages of 23 and 24, Biztree founders Bruno Goulet and Jonathan Defoy started building the original Business in a Box product. Working in the marketing department for a fast-growing software company, they had little time to waste writing wordy contracts and business documents. The Business in a Box creators soon realized that the pain of writing business documents was not unique to their situation or due to their lack of resources at the time. Surveying their peers, they quickly realized that the pain was universal and shared by almost every business owner.
"In every business venture we started, we never got over the pain of writing documents," explains CEO Bruno Goulet. "If only there were a quick and painless way to get all these documents written…" he recalls. They did not want to reinvent the wheel; they wanted to provide a solution, so they hired numerous consultants and lawyers to build the documents.
